(Morristown, NJ) -  For the past four decades, Dr. Martin L. Cohen of Advocare Morristown Pediatric Associates has been providing pediatric healthcare to the families of Morristown and surrounding communities.  Dr. Cohen founded the practice 1972 and has watched it grow from a small apartment on Mt. Kemble Avenue with one doctor to its current location on James Street with five board-certified physicians, several registered nurses and nurse practitioners. This September, Dr. Cohen proudly celebrates forty years of excellence in pediatric care.

"What I enjoy most about pediatrics is watching my patients grow and mature. The bonus that I never expected is treating the second generation of my patients. Over the years, I have been able to identify with patients the same age as my children, and now that of my grandchildren. My philosophy is to treat my patients as I would treat my own children or grandchildren,” expressed Dr. Cohen.

In addition to his commitment to patient care, Dr. Cohen served as assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He also was president of the medical-dental staff of Morristown Memorial Hospital in 1998 -1999, and president of the combined medical staffs of Atlantic Health System in 2000. Additionally, Dr. Cohen served as a Major in the United States Air Force, assigned as Chief of Pediatrics at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, TX.

A  Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Cohen is a member of several professional associations, including the American Medical Association, the Medical Society of New Jersey, and the Morris County Medical Society (President, 1988-1989).

Year after year, Dr. Cohen is recognized as a top physician in New Jersey by NJ Top Docs as well as, New Jersey Magazine's annual "Top Doctors in New Jersey" issue, and "Top Doctors in the New York Metro Area" in the Castle Connolly Directory.

Dr. Cohen is married to Joan (Stern) Cohen, a Morristown native. They have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
