Art, Culture Festival Hits The Sidewalks Of Morristown This Summer

The summer event will hit the streets Thursday, May 26, June 30, July 28 and August 25 in Morristown.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — With summer weather just around the corner, Morristown residents are eager to get out and enjoy the fair-weather festivals they might have missed during the past two years.

Meet Me in Morristown, a summer event promoting arts and culture as well as the downtown economy, will take place in Morristown on the last Thursday of each month beginning on May 26.

Morristown business sidewalk sales will be held throughout the town from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with entertainment and artists performing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at alternating locations each month. In May and July, the performances will take place on the Morristown Green, and in June and August, they will take place on the Vail Mansion Lawn.

Meet Me in Morristown will transform the downtown into a hub of art, music and entertainment, complete with artists and performers.

Select visual artists will exhibit and sell their work, while Morristown businesses will stay open later and host sidewalk sales and demonstrations.

“This unique partnership of local businesses, government, artists and arts organizations is a great example of how Morris Arts fulfills its mission to build community through the arts,” said Tom Werder, executive director at Morris Arts. “It’s about making art accessible to everyone.”

The first featured band in the summer series, Fish Eyed Blues, will perform on the Morristown Green on May 26. Fish Eyed Blues cover blues/rock songs by the Stones, Creme, Hendrix, Clapton, the Wilburys, ZZ Top, the Allman Brothers, BB King and others.

Local artists and businesses still have time to participate; the deadline to register is May 20, 2022.
