Baby Girl First Born In 2017 At Morristown Medical Center

Welcome to the world Zofia Tomos!

MORRISTOWN, NJ— It's a girl! Zofia Lorraine Tomos was one of the the first babies born in Morris County this year, at Morristown Medical Center.

Born to Peter and Nicole Tomos of Hewitt, baby Zofia weighs 7 lbs and 11 oz. She arrived at 12:48 p.m, an Atlantic Medical Center spokesperson told Patch.

"I thought it was awesome," Peter Tomos told the Daily Record about Zofia's birthday. "A holiday birthday I think is great, although I don't know how she's going to like sharing her special day."

Alessandro Blum was born at 12:48 a.m. on Jan. 1 weighing 7lbs, 11 oz at Morristown Medical Center. His parents are Wendy Granizo and Xavier Blum, of Westfield.

At Newton Medical Center, Lorraine Josephine Staton was born at 11:46 a.m. on Jan. 1. She weighed 7lbs., 12 oz. and was 21" long. Her parents Ruth A. Pellek and Jason A. Staton and brother Christopher James Staton, age 5, of Newton.
