Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown Is Coming To Greater Morristown

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Who has New Jersey's top brew, the top barbecue and the best use of bacon? Participants and diners at the Beer BBQ Bacon Showdown at Mennan Arena Field intend to find out.

The celebration will take place outdoors, under tents, May 14 (12-1 p.m. for VIP admission, 1-5 p.m. for general admission). The showdown and event will feature New Jersey craft beer, Garden State restaurants, gourmet food trucks and chefs offering an array of barbecue and bacon creations for purchase.

During the competition, participants will showcase their culinary skills, with a panel of judges choosing the best of the best. Competitors will also try to take home "People's Choice" awards for "Best Dish" and "Best Beer."

Thirty New Jersey breweries will attend, with each bringing three styles of beer, including one rare style created specifically for the event.

The showdown will include live music by Rock Bottom, a New Jersey-based cover band.
