Cops: 'Cake Boss' Drove Drunk Through New York City

Buddy Valastro of hit reality television show was pulled over in Manhattan Thursday morning and failed a breathalyzer test, police report.

Buddy Valastro, star of TLC network’s “Cake Boss,” has been charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped by New York City police Thursday morning.

According to nbcnewyork.com, Valastro was driving a yellow 2014 Corvette and swerving through traffic while heading north between 20th and 32nd streets.

When police asked the reality television star and business owner to step out of the vehicle, he was “unsteady on his feet,” and his “face was flushed and his eyes were bloodshot,” the report said.

The police report stated Bartolo Valastro failed a breathalyzer test before being taken into custody, according to dailyrecord.com. Valastro was stopped around 1 a.m. Thursday morning, the report said.

That failed breathalyzer test came with a 0.08 blood alcohol level reading, nj.com reported. To avoid a driving while intoxicated charge in the state of New York, motorists must have a reading of 0.07 or less.

Valastro lives with his family in Montville, New Jersey, and became a national sensation when his family-owned Hoboken bakery became the focus of the reality show.

Valastro most recently opened another family-owned bakery, Carlo’s Bake Shoppe, in Morristown, New Jersey earlier this year. It was the fifth bakery opened by the New Jersey native.
