Learn from a Composer: A Workshop with Garrett Fisher

Inspired by the Notes on Napkins exhibition, composer Garrett Fisher will demonstrate at the piano how he begins a musical idea. Participants will be invited to create their own “notes on napkins” — simple drawings, marks, words, or musical fragments — which Fisher will bring to life at the piano. This workshop is about the art of beginning: learning how to notice what arises in the moment, capture it simply, and discover how the strongest work often starts at the core. No music experience necessary; open to teens and adults.
