The Juneteenth Arts Celebration is a two-day event that unites four non-profit organizations to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. This FREE event celebrates the African American community and provides the public access to local artists, food, dance, music, and other festivities at major cultural venues in Morristown and Morris Township. It begins with Art in the Atrium’s reception of From Many to One: A New Tribe on Thursday, June 11th , and continues in a celebration at the Morris Museum on Thursday, June 18th. Art in the Atrium’s 34th Annual Signature exhibition, “From Many to One: A New Tribe,” explores the emergence of a powerful new cultural identity born from the convergence of many African tribes, languages, and histories into a shared legacy of resilience and new Black American culture. Curated by Onnie Strother and Nette Thomas, it features work by M. Gasby Brown, Lola Flash, Beverly McCutcheon, Philemona Williamson, and over 40 Black, Afro-Caribbean, and Afro-Latino artists. Through collage, painting, and photography, each artist offers a distinct view of the Black experience.
The reception is free but please RSVP at lp.constantcontactpages.com/sl/DRtEWQH/ATAJuneteenth2026
