On July 4, 1776, the Founding Fathers declared independence from Great Britain and established the beginnings of a new country. 250 years later we look back at the artifacts and stories that tell the story of the people involved in our country's founding.

This tour invites you to discover the Revolutionary and Founding Era through the remarkable collection built by W. Parsons Todd, a great-grandnephew of Dolley Madison. Explore letters written by founding fathers, portraits of George Washington, and more on this special tour to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Please Note: This tour involves stairs and is not appropriate for those who have trouble navigating stairs.

FREE to MHHM members. Cost to non-members: $10 adult | $8 senior | $5 per child (includes Museum admission)
