Victory Gardens

Sow the seeds of victory! Beginning in World War I, families across the country planted their own gardens to support food production at home. Dorothea Post, the Macculloch’s great-granddaughter, lived at Macculloch Hall during WWI and spent time growing food in the garden. Families are invited to explore the history of Victory Gardens and the importance of community gardens today. Join MHHM staff in the garden to help harvest produce, make a Victory Garden inspired art project, and plant a vegetable to start your own mini Victory Garden at home.

Ages 3+. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian

These programs are funded, in part, with support from The Astle-Alpaugh Family Foundation. Pre-registration is required.

Pre-registration is required. Each program is $20 per family unit, up to 6 people, and free to Museum members at the Family level and above.

If you are unable to attend after registering, you must let Macculloch Hall Historical Museum know at least two days before the program for a full refund of registration fee.
