Car Burglaries Attempted In Morris Twp. On Halloween Night: Cops

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — On a night when ghouls and goblins ring doorbells throughout town, one person tried to break into cars instead. Morris Township police are investigating several attempted car burglaries that they say took place on Halloween night.

Between 9:30 and 11:30 p.m. Sunday, several residents and surveillance cameras observed a male trying to gain entry into several vehicles. Police described the suspect as about 6 feet tall, wearing a dark-colored hoodie with writing on the back, a light-colored t-shirt, dark pants and sneakers.

Anyone with information can call the Morris Township Detective Bureau at 973-326-7480. If your vehicle or home is subject to attempted theft, do not touch anything. Call 973-539-0777 and press 0 for the dispatcher.

Police reminded the public to remove valuables from vehicles, take out key fobs and lock their doors.
