Celebrate The 'Roarin' 20s' To Help Morristown Project Graduation
Morristown High School Project Graduation Dinner and Fashion Show Fundraiser set for March 19.
MORRISTOWN, NJ - The roarin' twenties will be on display for a good cause on Thursday, March 19 at the Birchwood Manor in Whippany when the Morristown High School Project Graduation Dinner and Fashion Show Fundraiser takes place.
According to officials, the purpose of the event it to raise money for the Project Graduation All-Night Party – held on Graduation Night in Morristown.
What is the Project Graduation All-Night Party?
- The Project Graduation Party is a safe, alcohol-free and drug-free farewell celebration held the night of graduation. After graduation, the newly graduated seniors report to the high school where they leave their cars. They are bused to the party location, this year it will be Cosmopolitan in Wayne, where they will spend the night with their fellow graduates.
- Chaperones, parents of non-senior Morristown High School students and faculty, supervise the students and make sure they don’t leave. During the
- party, which begins around 9 p.m. and ends at around 3 a.m., the students can eat, hang out, sign yearbooks, or participate in the many exciting events planned.
- The event culminates with breakfast and a hypnotist who entertains the crowd. The exhausted graduates and chaperones are transported back to the high school around 4 a.m.
How much Does the Project Graduation Party Cost?
- The cost for each student’s participation in this all-night celebration is approximately $120, of which the students pay only $10. The balance is raised by the contributions of individuals and businesses in the community and this annual Fashion Show Dinner Event.
How many graduates attend the All Night Graduation Party?
- This year there are 448 Morristown High School seniors and all are encouraged to attend. Well over 300 students have attended in each of the past several years.
- How many years has Morristown High School been doing the Project Graduation Party?
- 2020 represents the 32nd year that Morristown High School has provided this type of party to keep our graduates safe on graduation night.
How many attend the Dinner and Fashion Show?
- Approximately 500-600 moms, dads, friends and students attend each year.
How is Money Raised for Project Graduation?
- Fashion Show/Dinner Gift Auction and Basket Raffle (baskets donated by local businesses, parents and corporate sponsors)
- 50/50 Drawing
- Dinner – a portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold supports the event
- Fashion Show program—local businesses and retailers can take out ads. Each show attendee receives a program
- Direct donations to Project Graduation from Families and Friends of MHS, as well as local businesses
