- Updated 4:55 p.m.āCampolatta comes out strong, keeping Zeuli close by locking the neck. He drives and pins Zeuli with 1:13 stil left in the first. Campolatta gets his fouth state championship win within seconds of the match starting.
- Updated 4:51 p.m.āDallas starts the match on the bottom and is quickly tied up by Fox, who is trying to ride on top and limit chances for a reversal or escape. Dallas can't get his feet under him. He finally gets on his feet before being quickly knocked back down by Fox. Fox rides out the last second of the match for a shutout 7-0 win. His state title is the first in St. Pete Prep's history. Only one match left: Andrew Campolatta of Bound Brook and Michael Zeuli of Cherokee for the 215 class championship.
- Updated 4:46 p.m.āFox starts on the bottom but gets a quick escape before getting on top of Winston. Fox gets two more points on a reversal before scoring a near fall. He ends the second period on top, both physical and in points, leading 7-0.
- Updated 4:43 p.m.āSlow start for the two big men. A surprsing ammount of dancing going on, considering the size of the kids in the bout. Fox gets two on a swept leg take down on Winston and rides out the match to a 2-0 lead after one.
- Updated 4:38 p.m.āWhat looks like a Shaw take down is ruled out of bounds in the start of the third. Some vocal parts of the crowd didn't care for the call. Orr catches Shaw's leg and takes him to ground. Shaw gets back on his feet but cant get away clean for an escape point. Orr lets Shaw escape with five seconds left to win the match 6-3. The win marks High Point's fourth state championship today, the first time since 1949 that has happened. The 189 weight class is next, with James Fox of St. Peter's Prep facing Dallas Winston of Jackson Memorial.
- Updated 4:34 p.m.āOrr tries to make a move, but Shaw catches him and scores a take down. Shaw is looking energized now, coming at Orr with renewed aggression. Both wrestlers are taking chances for big points. Orr gets a point on an escape and the two end the second on their feet. Score is 4-2 in Orr's favor.
- Updated 4:32 p.m.āOrr goes for the legs early, getting two on a takedown within the first 20 seconds of the match. Shaw is on the bottom, having a hard time getting away from Orr, who is riding on top. Shaw gets up, Orr goes for the legs again, almost scoring another take down, but Shaw keeps his shoulders up and gets away.Ā Orr ends the match on top. Score is 2-0.
- Updated 4:27 p.m.āBernstien starts the third on the bottom but gets a quick escape to bring the match to 3-2. Bernstien catches Harrington with his head down but can't capitalize as the two go back to toe-to-toe grappling. Bernstien is getting chances to score by bringing Harrington to the mat, but in the end the Voorhees wrestler falls to Harrington, 3-2. Next match is in the 171 category and will pit High Point's Ethan Orr against Tevin Shaw Piscataway.
- Updated 4:23 p.m.āHarrington gets an easy escape in the second to bring the score to 3-1.Harrington gets Bernstein's neck, but he is able to get out of the ring and reset. The pair end the match on their feet, both looking a little tired. Score after 2 is 3-1.
- Updated 4:20 p.m.āHarrington is going for the neck in the first period. He gets a hold of Bernstein's leg, but the Voorhees wrestler gets out of the circle. Harrington gets two penalty points and a chance to ride out on top of Bernstien. Bernstien gets away and scores an escape point before the end of the first. Score is 2-1.
- Updated 4:16 p.m.ā Barber goes for the leg this time. He gets tangled by Geoghegan but manages to get away for the match-winning escape point. Barber is the 152 class state champion on a 3-2 decision. Next matchup is Ryan Harrington of West Morris and Jadean Bernstein of Voorhees at the 160 class.
- Updated 4:13 p.m.ā Barber starts out on the bottom. Geoghegan gets his leg, but can't capitalie. Match still tied heading into the second 30 second tiebreaker.
- Updated 4:12 p.m.ā Not a lot of action in the first overtime. A lot of the same: toe-to-toe work on the necks and shoulders. Really even match. Going into 1st 30 second OT.
- Updated 4:11 p.m.āGeoghegan starts on top and trys to ride Barber out. Barber bucks him and gets two for the reverse, swining the lead his way before Geoghehan breaks for an escape point. Match is tied at 2-2. Back to square one: the pair on their feet, grappling. We're going to the 1-minute sudden death OT.
- Updated 4:08 p.m.āBarber starts the match on top, but Geoghegan gets a point on the escape early in the second. The two are back to where they were before, grapping on their feet and looking for a way to make a move on the other wrestler. One of the most evenly matched bouts of the day, so far. Score after two is 1-0.
- Updated 4:06 p.m.āBarber and Geoghegan stay on their feet early on, neither one looking to go to the mat right away. Both wrestlers are looking for an opening, neither one are finding one. A lot of head slapping and neck grabbing, but no points yet. Match is tied 0-0 after the first.
- Updated 4:01 p.m.āAlpher starts on top and tries to get something going in the way of a take down, but Green gets two more point for a reversal. His speed is killing Alpher, who is struggling to keep up. Alpher gets an escape point before Green gets another two on a reversal. Green lets Alpher go before taking the Paramus wrestler down for two final take down points. Match ends 16-4 in Green's favor. First state championship in Willingboro history, we're told. Next up in the 152 weigh class are Devin Geoghegan of Brearly and Christian Barber of Westfield.
- Updated 3:56 p.m.āAlpher starts out on top and takes Green to the mat, where he promptly gets points for a reversal. Alpher can't seem to keep up with Green's speed both on his feet and on the ground. the Willingboro grappler brings the score to 10-2 in the second before taking injury time. Alpher tries to go for the neck, but Green pins his arm and gets around his attempts to lock. Green takes a second injury break. Can't see what it is, but the staff is paying a lot of attention to his face. Second period ends 10-2.
- Updated 3:52 p.m.āGreen wastes no time, getting two quick points on an Alpher take down. Alpher tries to get on top, but Green beats him with speed to bring the pair back on their feet and grappling. Alpher gets a point for an escape, but not without Green getting two more on a second take down. Green tires for one more near pin before the first period ends, 4-1.
- Updated 3:46 p.m.ā Wagenhoffer rides on top, seems like he's trying to hold Orecchio down for the remainder of the third. Orrechio can't turn Wagnehoffer over or get to his kneed without being cut down again. Wagenhoffer ends up winning the one-sided match, giving High Point the 140 weight class title. Next up are Nick Alpher of Paramus and James Green of Willingboro for the 145 lb title.
- Updated 3:43 p.m. - Orecchio tries to make a move, but Wagnehoffer turns it around and gets two more on a take down. The pair go to the mat and Orrecchio makes up two on an escape before Wagnerhoffer turns around another near-fall. Score stands at 6-2 after two.
- Updated 3:40 p.m. - Wagenhoffer and Orecchio come out strong, going right at each other. Wagenhoffer spends most of the first period on top, scoring a 2 points in a near-fall. Not much action after that: either the match is a technical battle or neither wrestler can get something going. Wagnehoffer stars the second on the bottom.
- Updated at 3:33 p.m.āScoreless first 30-second OT. Then Scotton cuts Miller, going down, 2-1, in the second OT. A desperation move by Scotton gives Miller a shot at a takedown. He gets it. Match ends, 4-1. Miller's the champ. It's the 15th straight year Camden Catholic has put a wrestler in the state tournament finals. Next up, High Point's Drew Wagenhoffer takes on Joe Orecchio from Don Bosco.
- Updated at 3:31 p.m.ā Pair trade moves. Neither gets takedown. Pair look at each other and say, pretty much, "Let's go into overtime."
- Updated at 3:30 p.m.āMiller nearly gets takedown, but Scotton keeps left arm wrapped behind Miller's back. Score 1-1 heading into third period.
- Updated at 3:27 p.m.āScotton takes injury stoppage time. Crowd takes exception, booing loudly at first. Then it booed some more. Scotton seems concerned with right shoulder after pair tussled on the mat for nearly 30 seconds.
- Updated at 3:26 p.m.āIt's 1-0 Scotton after two periods. Miller begins third on bottom. Miller almost got a takedown near the end of the second, but the bell saved Scotton. Scotton cuts Miller at the beginning of the period, making it 1-1.
- Updated at 3:23 p.m.āScotton got a point, but we're not sure why. Ref was yelling instructions to Miller while the pair were tied up.
- Updated at 3:19 p.m.āToday's attendance announced at 10,288, with 38,741 tickets sold during the whole weekend. Cool. Scotton and Miller go scoreless for the first minute ... same goes for the second, and Scotton starts second period on bottom.
- Updated at 3:16 p.m.ā Little action in the third after the first minute. But Clagon stops a Perrotti shot. The match ends with the two tied up. Perrotti takes first state title, Clagon slams fist against mat. Next up, Tyler Scotton of Willingboro faces Camden Catholic's T.J. Miller in the 135-pound final bout.
- Updated at 3:11 p.m.āPerrotti gets a stall point for a 3-0 lead with about a minute left in the second. Then he escapes Clagon, making it 4-0. A Clagon reversal makes it 4-2 with about 30 seconds left in the period. That's the score going into the third, and the pair begin the third in neutral.
- Updated at 3:07 p.m.āPerrotti grabs 2-0 lead with takedown late in first period near the circle's edge. Score's the same heading into the second period, in which Perrotti starts on the bottom.
- Updated at 3:04 p.m.āThe end was a little less thrilling than last year's, but we think Francavilla doesn't mind. He grabs his third state title with a 3-0 decision. Next up, West Essex's Anthony Perrotti takes on Toms River South's Bryant Clagon at 130 pounds.
- Updated at 3;02 p.m.āFrancavilla riding Casaletto. Stalemate with about 30 seconds left. When they start again, Casaletto writhes around, almost slipping away. Scoreless after two periods. Francavilla escapes with a little more than a minute left in the match, then he gets a takedown for a 3-0 lead.
- Updated at 2:58 p.m.āFrancavilla won in thrilling, last-second fashion last year. Let's see if he's up to his old tricks. The pair start circling each other, with High Point head coach John Gardner silent in his corner while Souther Regional's is pretty vocal. Francavilla almost gets behind Casaletto, but the pair went out of bounds. Twice. That livens up Gardner. Casaletto starts second period on bottom. Match scoreless after one period.
- Updated at 2:53 p.m.āDeutsch on bottom to start third. He almost got hit with a takedown near the end of the second. Heilmann needs to make a move. He started round down, 6-4. Deutsch gets quick stalling warning. Then he gets free for a three-point lead with 42 seconds left. Now Heilmann's desperate. He wants the right leg, but Deutsch is keeping it away. Then Deutsch grabs Heilmann's right and the match ends, giving the Eastern grappler his second state title. Next up, High Point's Nick Francavilla against Southern Regional's Kyle Casaletto at 125 pounds.
- Updated at 2:49 p.m.āDeutsch keeps shooting for single- and double-legs. It works. He gets another takedown with more than a minute left in the second, and the score's 6-3 before Heilmann breaks out again.
- Updated at 2:46 p.m.ā Deutsch goes up, 2-0, then lets Heilmann out for an escape early into the match. Deutsch makes it 4-1 after another fast takedown. Deutsch seems much quicker than Heilmann. But Heilmann gets another ecscape with about 20 seconds remaining, making it 4-2. Period ends at that score, with Heilmann starting the second round on bottom before notching a fast escape.
- Updated at 2:41 p.m.āMagaldo gets away from Ashnault, making it 2-1 with about a minute left. Ashnault takes short injury stoppage time. Magaldo goes for single leg with 21 seconds left, but misses and Ashnault hits takedown for 4-1 lead. Then he puts Magaldo on his back for three points, winning 7-1. It's his second state title. Next up, Eastern's Rob Deutsch and South Plainfield's Try Heilmann at 119 pounds.
- Updated at 2:36 p.m.āAshnault almost breaks out, but Magaldo grabs leg and forces him out of bounds. Not a lot of action on Magaldo's part, though, as he tried to keep Ashanult from escaping. Scoreless after two periods. Ashnault gets single-leg takedown early in third period after the pair go neutral.
- Updated at 2:34 p.m.āAshnault and Magaldo begin with aggression, going at each other from the jump. Ashnault tried leg sweep, but got denied. Also went for single leg. It's scoreless after the first period with Ashnault starting the second on bottom.
- Updated at 2:29 p.m.āCalas hooks Gonzalez's leg with less than 10 seconds left, turning him over for a 4-2 overtime victory. Right side of the crowd goes nuts. Next match, Watchung Hills' Mike Magaldo against South Plainfield's Anthony Ashnault at 112 pounds.
- Updated at 2:26 p.m.āCalas controlling Gonzalez. Couldn't get over for a while, but got behind him for two takedown points with seven seconds left. Now they're in sudden death.
- Updated at 2:24 p.m.āCalas gets stalling warning late in second period. Pair goes scoreless. They go neutral for the third period.
- Updated at 2:22 p.m.āAfter first period, it's 2-0, Gonzalez. He spent a good 30 seconds trying to get his leg over Calas' back for a takedown before getting it near the first period's end. Calas on top to start the second.
- Updated at 2:19 p.m.āNow we're at the 103-pound title between Brenden Calas of Seton Hall and North Bergen's Luis Gonzalez.
- Updated at 2:18 p.m.ā Pair mostly leaning on each other throughout third. With 30 seocnds left, Delia get single leg, but Smith spins out of it for a takedown and a 3-1 lead. He cuts Delia at the last second, and wins the state heavyweight title, 3-2. Will High Point get more? The school has a few guys in the finals.
- Updated at 2:17 p.m.āSmith ahead, 1-0, into third. Delia on bottom to start. Smith trying to ride him out. Delia gets out with relative ease. Score tied, 1-1.
- Updated at 2:15 p.m.āSmith takes match's first shot. But both guys end up out of bounds and back in the center. Scorless first period. But Smith gets escape early in second, going up, 1-0.
- Updated at 2:12 p.m.āSmith, Delia feeling each other out. Moving slow, like most heavyweight matches. Working on each other's heads.
- Updated at 2:10 p.m.āAfter moment of silence for color retiring, voice over loud speaker: "Wrestling fans, are you ready for some wrestling?" Crowd answers with cheers. First up, High Point senior Bily Smith against Jack Delia of North Hunterdon. Two big boys. (Excellent insight, we know.) And they're off.

- Updated at 12:46 - Montville's Taylor Bernstein (215) was able to hold on to a one-point lead on Delbarton's Dean Sullivan late in the third to capture win third place for the Mustangs. Bernstein's 4-3 decisoin will bring Montville its only medal of the weekend. That will wrap up the live blog for now, but we will back at 2 p.m. to bring you coverage of every championship match.
- Updated at 12:21 p.m. - Big match coming up for third place in 215 weigh class. Montville's Taylor Bernstein will square off against Dean Sullivan of Delbarton in a battle for Morris County supremacy. We're heading down to get a closer look at the bout, but we will be back to post the results.
- Updated at 11:57 ā Suprising action at 171 pound. Franklin's Colin Hewitt pinned St. Joseph's Dane McDermott, sending a section of the Boardwalk Hall crowd into a frenzy. Heitt took third.
- Updated at 11:53 - Schlitt gets an escape, but it's too little, too late. Wright of Montclair will take home seventh place in the 160 weight bracket.
- Updated at 11:51 - Big takedown for Wright, turning what looked like a Schlitt comeback and twisting it into a commanding 5-1 lead with 20 seconds left in the third.
- Updated at 11:48 - Wright is up 2-1 on Schlitt, holding the Haddonfield grappler down to ride out the seocond.
- Updated at 11:45 - Robert Schlitt of Haddonfield (160) just started his seventh-place match against Montclair's Ottis Wright. Score is tied 0-0 after one. A lot of grappling, but not too much action to report.
- Updated at 11:41 - Jefferson's Mike Monarque (152)Ā wins seventh place in a 7-4 decision against Francisco Colom of St. Peter's Prep.
- Updated at 11:38 - At the 145 weight class: Pelal Deeb of Passaic Tech takes seventh over Jonathan Shleyfer. Don Bosco's Sal Mastriani, a Montville resident, falls to Joseph Gaccione of High Point in a decision for thrid place.
- Updated at 11:29 - Devon Gobbo of Delbarton takes home third place in the 140 weight class on a third period escape against Fajardo of Boonton. Final score 1-0. Gobbo becomes the thrid Delbarton wrestler to place today.
- Updated at 11:26 - Guidice was able to slip from underneath and score two quick points on Parrino late in the third to take fifth place for Hillsborough. Final score 5-4.
- Updated at 11:12 - Canfora gets the win on an escape late in the second 30-second overtime. Delbarton takes third place at the 135 weight class. T.J. Guidice is about to start his fifth place match against PJ Parrino.
- Updated at 11:10 - Canfora is getting more aggresive now, using his strenth to try and score a takedown on Melde. The Delbarton wrestler will start on the bottom for the second 30-second overtime.
- Updated at 11:09 - Canfora nearly took Melde down before the Bergen Catholic grappler recoverd. the match moves into its first 30-second overtime, still tied 1-1.
- Updated at 11:08 - Canfora and Melde are going into 1 minute overtime. A lot of grappling going on. Neither wrestler is giving the other much opportunity to capitalize on mistakes.

- Updated at 10:50 - Jeff Cantora from Delbarton is on deck to face Connor Melde from Bergen Catholic for third place in the 135 weight class. Elsewhere in the region, Bryan Lightly of Passaic Tech is grappling with Vinnie Leone of Marlboro for seventh place in the 130 bracket.
- Updated at 10:40 - Couple of good matches coming up. T.J. Guidice (140) of Hillsborough will take on PJ Parrino of Ocean Township for fifth place. Guidice, a senior capitain with Hillsborough, lost his quarterfinal match to Boonton's Eric Fajardo on Saturday before beating Antonio Mancella of Oakcrest and Kevin Collins of Randolph. He couldn't best Delbarton's Devon Gobbo, who will compete for third place againstĀ Fajardo in the 140 class. Stay tuned.
- Updated at 10:24 - No more area wrestlers for the moment. Next match will be another Delbarton mat man, Jeff Canfora (135) taking on Connor Melde of Bergen Catholic for third place.
- Updated at 10:20 - Rodgers falls to Vanbrill in a 7-1 decision The Delbarton wrestler couldn't find a way to break Vanbrill's grip. Clearview takes home fifth.
- Updated at 10:17 - Vanbrill comes out hot, taking down Rodgers and scoring a quick five points coming out of the gate in the second. The Clearview wrestler is riding strong on top keeping Rodgers from finding his feet. 5-0 Vanbrill after two
- Updated at 10:13 - Rodgers spending a lot of time on top, but he can't seem to make a move on Vanbrill. Tied at 0-0
- Updated at 10:12 - It's over. Innarella takes seventh place for Delbarton, beating Andreano 9-6 thanks to another takedown late in the third. Max Rodgers (112), also of Delbarton, is about to take on John Vanbrill of Clearview for fifth place.
- Updated at 10:09 - Innaerlla is hanging tough, scoring three quick points on a takedown and an escape, but Andreano won't go away. Going to be close...
- Updated at 10:08 - Even match between Innarella and Andreano. The Delbarton grappler is down 4-3 after spending most of the second working from the ground.
- Updated at 10:02 - And we're off.Ā Christian Innarella (103) of Delbarton is squaring off against Mike Andreano of Glen Rock Saddle Brook for the seventh-place title. Innarella is off to a strong start, scoring early to go up 2-0.
