College of Saint Elizabeth presents photographs by Dick Eger

On March 13, 2019, the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ, will open its 50th exhibit

On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ, will open its 50th exhibition, entitled, Dick Eger: Capturing the Image. The opening reception at the Gallery in Annunciation Center will take place from 4:30 – 7:00 pm followed by a conversation between the artist and the Gallery’s Director/Curator, Virginia Fabbri Butera, PhD, in Dolan Performance Hall from 7:00 – 8:00 pm. The opening reception and the Artist’s Talk are free and open to the public.

Dick Eger has been a photographer for fifty-six years, and this show celebrates his discerning eye and techniques using a twin-lens Rolleiflex, medium format, manual camera, as well as a digital camera and an iPhone. The exhibition will include images of street scenes and street people, indoor shots, abstracts, nature, landscapes, objects, animals, portraits and a rare self-portrait. Dr. Butera notes: “As a photographer, Dick Eger has captured a panoply of delicate, humorous, insightful, jarring, magnificent, and utterly original images from around the globe. He documents the unusual in nature and culture alike and brings his sensitivity to the human condition and his artistic imagination to every image he creates.”

The exhibition will be on view from March 13 through April 14, 2019. Gallery hours are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 2:00 – 6:00 pm or by appointment when you contact Dr. Butera at artgallery@cse.edu.
