Columbia Turnpike/Park Avenue Repaving Scheduled For Next Week

The roadwork is set to be completed overnight to avoid disrupting traffic.

MORRIS, NJ — Paving is scheduled for the Columbia Turnpike/Park Avenue intersection on Monday and Tuesday of next week, the county said.

All work is planned for overnight (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.) to hopefully reduce the impact on traffic. It was supposed to be completed last fall, but was pushed back to the spring due to cold weather.

“We’d like to thank county residents in advance or their patience in dealing with the temporary inconveniences that will be caused by the work at these extremely important and busy intersections,’’ said Morris County Freeholder John Cesaro, the county governing board’s liaison on roads and bridges. "There is no good time to do it, so we have scheduled the work to be done at nights and early mornings, and will work closely with our contractors and local police to cause minimum inconvenience."
