Community Rallies To Send Morristown Hit-And-Run Victim’s Body Home
Residents are raising money to send the hit-and-run victim's body back to his family in Ecuador.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Morristown community has come together to help the family of Justo Pilco-Tenesaca, a 68-year-old resident who was suddenly killed in a hit-and-run last week.
On the morning of March 20, Pillco-Tenesaca was hit by a truck and pinned beneath it while crossing the street. He was rushed to Morristown Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Officials say the driver, Wilson Morocho-Necta, fled the scene on foot and is still at large. Read more here.

Now, the Morristown community has rallied to mourn and honor Pillco-Tenesaca.
A GoFundMe organized by Pillco-Tenesaca’s friends has launched to cover the expenses required to send his body to his family in Ecuador.

“Justo was far from home, with his entire family residing in Ecuador,” the fundraiser reads. “During this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together as a community to help honor his memory and fulfill the family’s wish to bring him back home, where he can rest surrounded by his loved ones.”
The fundraiser organizer, Maria Dominguez, has known Pillco-Tenesaca for years, and describes him as “one of the most kindhearted and hardworking people we had the privilege of knowing.”
The fundraiser has exceeded its goal of $10,000 to transport Pillco-Tenesaca’s body back to his family in Ecuador.
