Understanding the Connection Between Human/Cyber Sex Trafficking and Pornography
Human/cyber sex trafficking can involve multiple strategies and deceptive Internet technologies to lure unsuspecting children and families into the world of child pornography. Many think this only happens in foreign countries and inner cities. But if it can happen in Parsippany, NJ, it can happen in any town or suburb. The growth of this multimillion dollar criminal enterprise is alarming, and the use of the underground Internet called the Dark Net makes it difficult for law enforcement to track and arrest the perpetrators. This presentation will provide cutting edge information regarding the Dark Internet, its origins and content. A brief overview will be presented, of the deceptive schemes and strategies used to lure children into abusive and pornographic activities, where they are then photographed, videoed and sold on the Dark Net to millions.
Following will be a panel discussion moderated by author and Reverend, “Barbara from Harlem”, and featuring Constitutionalist and acting attorney for Students for a Better Future, Chaplain Nick Purpura; Reverend Steve Craft, founder of Christian Citizenship Ministries, Inc., a mentor, addiction counselor and expert on the 12-step recovery process; Doreen La Guardia, researcher, activist, former public school teacher and founder and CEO of the non-profit Students for a Better Future; Reverend Mandy Bristol from the Church Abolitionist Network (CAN); and Joseph Foster, Director of Programming, Students for a Better Future offering the Libertarian viewpoint.
