MORRISTOWN, NJ — A Morristown man faces criminal charges including eluding police and receiving stolen property after attempting to flee in a stolen car after being stopped for speeding in Denville, according to police.
Police said they stopped the man, Justin Leuzarder, 39, on Aug. 14 at 4.24 a.m. after noticing him speeding on Route 10. When the officer returned to his police vehicle, Leuzarder, who had given police his driver's license, sped away from the scene, according to police.
"The officer pursued for a short distance, but ultimately broke off the chase because the identity of the driver was known," police said. "A short time later, the Randolph Police Department located Leuzarder's vehicle abandoned in the area of Dover-Chester Road, Randolph."
