Booker has popped into Morristown several times in 2017: This past August, he accompanied Mayor Dougherty on a small-business walking tour.
Like Mayor Dougherty, Booker began his political career as a councilman, serving first on Newark's City Council before becoming Mayor in 2006. In October 2013, Booker won the election to the US Senate, making him the first African-American Senator from New Jersey.
