Council President Won't Seek Re-Election in Morristown

The 4 p.m. deadline to file a petition for placement on the November Election ballot came and went Tuesday, and Rebecca Feldman’s paperwork was nowhere to be found.

The Morristown Council President and member of the Independent party won’t seek a third term in office, according to morristowngreen.com.

Feldman has long fought in the past to change how Primary Elections were held by seeking to include members of the Independent Party, has spent eight years on the council. Her term is up on Dec. 31, 2015.

Feldman, who represents the First Ward, said she was ready to pursue bigger challenges, the report said.
