Dealers Charged, Cocaine Seized In Morris Co. Drug Investigation: Prosecutor

Law enforcement seized more than 250 grams of cocaine during the two-month investigation, authorities said.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A two-month investigation around Morris County yielded more than 250 grams of cocaine and a laundry list of charges for a pair suspected of dealing, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office announced Wednesday.

Agencies around Morris and Sussex Counties conducted an operation Oct. 11 that targeted both suspects: Maurice Nobles and Tyson McCoy, authorities said. Law enforcement apprehended Nobles that day, while McCoy remains at large as of Wednesday morning, according to the prosecutor's office.

The prosecutor's offices in Morris and Sussex Counties conducted the two-month investigation into the drug distribution, authorities said. Police agencies in Morristown, Dover, Roxbury and Wharton participated in Oct. 11's operation.

Law enforcement seized more than 250 grams of cocaine, drug-packaging paraphernalia, currency and multiple cellphones during the investigation, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Nobles, 35, remains detained in the Morris County Correctional Facility, pending trial. The Wharton resident was charged with 21 offenses:

  • possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine, one count, first-degree)
  • conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (one count, second-degree)
  • possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (six counts, second-degree)
  • distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine, six counts, second-degree)
  • possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine, six counts, third-degree)
  • possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia (one count, fourth-degree)

McCoy, 41, of Dover, was charged with 16 offenses:

  • possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (one count, first-degree)
  • conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances (one count)
  • possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance (four counts, second-degree)
  • distribution of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine, four counts, second-degree)
  • possession of a controlled dangerous substance (cocaine, five counts, third-degree)
  • possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia (one count, fourth-degree)

McCoy remains wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant, authorities said.
