Power To Be Restored Thursday Night, Roads Still Closed In Morris

Breaking: Tuesday night's storm has made Wednesday morning's commute messy.

MORRIS COUNTY — Tuesday night's storm knocked down trees and power lines across the county, leaving a trail of road closures and power outages on Wednesday.

14,707 JCP&L customers also remain without power as of Wednesday afternoon. Power is expected to be restored to some customers by 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night, with those experiencing more severe damage seeing it return on Friday, JCP&L said.

"The 70+ mph winds resulted in widespread tree damage to our system, including broken poles and downed wires that will need to be replaced. There are also hundreds of single outages that will require crews to travel to each individual location to make repairs," JCP&L said on Facebook (see current town-by-town outages below).
