DWI Charge For Morristown Woman After 'Reckless Driving': Police

The Florham Park Police Department arrested four people for drunk driving in four days over the Fourth of July weekend.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Fourth of July weekend tends to bring more intoxicated drivers to the roads. A Morristown woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated, according to the Florham Park Police.

A 43-year-old woman from Morristown was charged on July 2 with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, careless driving, operating an unregistered vehicle and driving on a suspended license, Officer Kyle Kepler said.

Members of the Florham Park Police were hard at work over the Fourth of July weekend, making four arrests for drunk driving in four nights.

According to the Borough police, the following arrests were made:

On July 4, Kepler arrested a 49-year-old man of Margate, Florida, for drunk driving after observing impairment while driving. He was charged with DUI, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving and careless driving.

Kepler arrested a 39-year-old male from South Orange, for drunk driving on July 5 after observing impairment while driving. Driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, speeding, careless driving, failure to use a turn signal, and refusal to submit to breath testing were all charges leveled against him.

Following observations of impairment, while driving, Detective Sergeant Michael Neilan arrested a 63-year-old male from Livingston, for drunk driving on July 3. He was charged with DUI, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to obey a traffic signal.

"For 2022, Officer Kepler leads the Florham Park Police Department with 12 Drunk Driving arrests. Great job by Kyle for significantly affecting the removal of impaired drivers from our roads," police said.
