MORRISTOWN, NJ — It was only a year ago when New Jersey limited outdoor gatherings to 50 people because of COVID-19. But egg hunts this year, including Morristown's, will return without statewide pandemic restrictions.

Morristown's Easter egg hunt returns April 9 to Lidgerwood Park. The Easter Bunny will arrive at 10 a.m., and the hunts will begin a half-hour later. The event is open to Morristown residents only.

The event will include pictures with the Easter Bunny and special "golden-egg" prizes. See the Facebook event here.

The past two years forced towns like Morristown to get creative with Easter events. Last year, the Morristown Fire Bureau escorted the bunny through town. The town and the Morristown Partnership also collaborated to hold Morristown's Egg-Cellent Adventure — a weeks-long scavenger hunt through the area.

The Egg-Celent Aventure will return, running from March 29 through April 11. The list of clues will lead participants to numbered Easter eggs around locations such as historic sites, points of interests and businesses.

Keep checking the Morristown Partnership for the clue sheet. Participants will earn points for each clue they find. Groups and families who submit their participation form by April 11 will get entered into a drawing for prizes.
