NEW JERSEY, NJ — In a few weeks, New Jersey residents will head to the polls to vote in the House of Representatives primary election. Patch sent out questions to candidates to share their thoughts ahead of the June 7 primary.
Five Republicans are vying to unseat Democrat Mikie Sherrill, who won the seat for the first time in 2018. The Republican candidates are Tayfun Selen, Paul DeGroot, Ruth McAndrew, Alexander R. Halter and Toby Anderson. Sherrill doesn't have a primary challenger.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
America First. Trump Republican. The goal is less politicians and more every day people.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
She is a Democratic and has failed the people.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Don't major in the minors.
Inflation, Border, Protect the Children. A good place to start.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
My passion. A career in journalism. Ability to build and lead teams on local and national levels. Public Speaking.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be Authentic. Willing to Fight. And must be able to accept political pain to fix this mess.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
Republicans have won plenty of elections but we are losing the country. Time to put in America First Republicans. Must address and fix our problems here in our country. Take over the chambers in '23 and election DJT in '24.
