MORRISTOWN, NJ — The Women’s March on New Jersey 2018 will be held in Morristown this Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. The march will begin at Morristown Town Hall and will go to Morristown Green, where a second rally will take place.

The list of speakers includes Morristown Mayor Timothy Dougherty, Governor Phil Murphy, First Lady Tammy Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver. The Women's March on New Jersey 2018 is one of many scheduled to occur throughout the country to mark the anniversary of last year’s Women’s March on Washington.

There will also be marches in New York City and Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

The main march will be Sunday, Jan. 21 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Organizers say they chose Las Vegas because it's a key battleground state for the upcoming 2018 midterms and because of the deadliest shooting in U.S. history, which took place at a concert there last summer.

“Morristown is honored to serve as the site of New Jersey’s 2018 Women’s March, in solidarity with marches taking place all across America,” said Morristown Mayor Dougherty. “Here in Morristown, diversity, tolerance and inclusion are principles we govern and live by. With officials from across the state joining the effort, I hope we can inspire citizens to engage with their elected representatives to work toward these common goals.”
