More Details On Fatal Carbon Monoxide Incident In Morris County

A deadly carbon monoxide incident took place in New Jersey this week, police said. A victim was identified.

A man was killed and a woman was hospitalized after elevated levels of carbon monoxide were found at a New Jersey home this week, police said.

The man found dead in the Roxbury home Saturday was identified as Henry Fry, 78, according to The Daily Record. The cause of death is still pending a report from the Morris County Medical Examiner's office.

New Jersey Natural Gas said there was a carbon monoxide leak inside the home, according to The Daily Record, stemming from an improper functioning furnace.

A woman who was not identified was found at the home and was feeling sick, according to the report. She was taken to a local hospital.

The incident took place Saturday at 3:46 p.m. on Pleasant Hill Rd in Roxbury Township when police responded to a report of an unresponsive 78-year-old man, spokeswoman Jennifer Dillard told WRNJ.

The man was pronunced dead and the 78-year-old woman at the residence was sickened by the carbon monoxide, Dillard told WRNJ.

Roxbury Fire Department and New Jersey Natural Gas are investigating, nj.com said.
