MORRISTOWN, NJ — Welcome to October! Has Morristown been livelier lately?
The Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival on Sept. 18 welcomed hundreds to the Green, showing the town is open for big events again after a long pandemic break. This month, Morristown will welcome several more events — both big and small, both fun and important.

Morristown Shred Event
9 a.m. to noon Saturday

Take advantage of this safe and secure method of destroying confidential documents. Bring documents in either paper bags or cardboard boxes weighing no more than 10 pounds. Shredding is limited to confidential and sensitive materials only. The cost is $5 per bag or box. The event takes place in the back of Town Hall, lot off Franklin Street. Find more info here.
Festival on the Green
12-5 p.m. Sunday
It's back. One of North Jersey's major fall events is making a return. This year's festival will run from 12-5 p.m. Sunday, rain or shine, on and around the Morristown Green. The event will offer a wide variety of entertainment and activities for all ages, including four stages, Kids Place amusements, carnival games and the beer tent. Morristown Festival of Books
Oct. 9
The all-day, free festival offers something for everyone, with more than 30 fiction, nonfiction, young-adult and children's authors, book sales and signing and outdoor entertainment. The festival has also announced its author rosters for the Main Festival and KidFest. Find more info here.
Flu Clinic
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 15
It's time to get a flu shot. The Morristown Division of Health will hold a Municipal Building Flu Clinic. Appointments are required. Flu shots cost $15 but are free for Morristown municipal employees and seniors 65 and older with a Medicare card. Find out more here.
Tricks & Treats
2 p.m. Oct. 29
Get ready for the scary season. Wear your best costume and meet at the front lawn of Town Hall, before heading out to the Partnership's Downtown Trick or Treat. Find out more here.
