'Fiber Fairies' Asking For Donations In Morristown

Have you seen hats on Morristown statues recently? Odds are, the Fiber Fairies put them there.

MORRISTOWN, NJ— It's a strange sight: statues cast out of bronze wearing winter hats and scarves. What good could wool do on a statue?

Turns out, a lot. The oddly placed winter gear get there courtesy of Morristown NJ Fiber Fary, a local organization that provides hats and scarves to the homeless.

The concept is simple. The Fairies, two adults, one college student and one high school student, leave matching scarf and hat sets on statues. All come attached with a note attached that reads: "If you need this to help keep you warm in this cold weather, then it is now yours. Life is good. Pass it on. ~The Morristown Fiber Fairy”.

Right now their supplies are running a little low, and they're asking for the public to donate matching sets so they can continue handing the gear out all winter.

You can drop donations of matching hats and scarves for the Fairies to distribute at Regalo, 469 Speedwell Avenue in Morris Plains.
