Fire Destroys Nurse's Home In Morris Township, Community Rallies To Raise Funds
High winds fanned the flames of the Burnham Road home, but everyone made it out safely, officials said.
MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — An aggressive fire ripped through a Burham Road home Friday night, leaving the single-family house destroyed. No one was injured, but the damage left a longtime nurse and her family without their belongings.
The resident has worked at Morristown Medical Center for more than 30 years, according to her daughter-in-law, who started a GoFundMe on the family's behalf. The GoFundMe has generated nearly $17,000 as of 9:30 a.m. Monday.
The Morris Township Fire Department responded to the 19 Burham Road blaze just after 9:30 p.m. Friday. The first units on-scene witnessed a large volume of fire, with high winds fanning the flames.
