The event is part of the area's broader celebration of the nation's semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

The fireworks and other Living History Weekend activities were originally scheduled for September but were postponed because of a nor'easter.

In addition to the fireworks, Saturday's festivities will include Revolutionary War reenactments, historic-site tours, and other activities highlighting Morristown's role in American history.
