Food Assistance Program Halts Operations After 15 Years In Morristown

The nonprofit said rising costs, financial challenges and growing demand led to the temporary shutdown.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Table of Hope, a Morristown nonprofit that has provided hot meals, weekly groceries, and programs for children and families for 15 years, said it temporarily suspended all services and programs effective this past Monday.

The organization announced the pause in a statement that cited ongoing financial challenges, rising operational costs, and increased community demand. According to the statement, the suspension is intended to give the nonprofit time to stabilize, strengthen, and realign the organization for the future.

ā€œIt is with deep regret that we share that, due to ongoing financial challenges, rising operational costs, and increased community demand, Table of Hope will temporarily suspend all services and programs effective March 23, 2026,ā€ the organization said in the statement.

Table of Hope said the decision was "not made lightly" and acknowledged the effect the shutdown may have on people who rely on its services, as well as staff, volunteers, and community partners. ā€œWe understand the hardship this may create for the many individuals and families who rely on our services, as well as for our staff, volunteers, and community partners,ā€ the statement said.

During the suspension, the nonprofit encouraged residents in need of food assistance or supportive services to contact other providers. The organizations listed in the statement were Market Street Mission, Interfaith Food Pantry, Nourish NJ, and St. Margaret’s Food Pantry.
