Halloween Events Hosted By Morris County Parks Coming Up

There's something for everyone here-- check out all the different events hosted by the parks department.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — October is finally here, and with it comes plenty of Halloween fun. The Morris County Parks Commission is hosting multiple events through the month, and there's something for everyone. Check out some spooky events they're hosting here, and find full details on the parks website (all events are all ages, unless otherwise notes):

Time To Mourn (multiple dates): This event, for those ages 12 and up, will teach you about different mourning customs in the Victorian era. Cost ranges from $6 to $2, and is free for young children. Call 973-326-7645 for more info.

Paper Faces On Parade (Oct. 15): Learn about masks and make one of your own. Costs range from $7 to $5, free for young children. Call 973-285-6537 for more info.

Pumpkin Creations (Oct. 22): Use natural materials to decorate your own pumpkin. Costs range from $6 to $2, free for young children. Call 973-326-7645 for more info.

A Miller's Halloween (Oct. 28): Hear spooky stories and make crafts in your Halloween costumes. Donations welcome. Call 908-879-5463- for more information.

Potions and Elixirs- Myths Dispelled (Oct. 28): Learn about how potions and elixirs were used to treat illnesses. Costs range from $7 to $5, young children free. Call 973-285-653 for more information.

Teeny Tiny Trail Tails (Oct. 28): For ages 2-5, take a kid-friendly walk through a spooky nature trail. $3 a person. Call 973-635-6629 to register.

Many Dreadful- Tales From Yesterday And Today (Oct. 28): Hear horror stories from the Victorian era, told by a costumed storyteller. Costs $7 to $5, free your young children. Call 973-285-6537 for more info.

Scaredy Plants (Oct. 29): For ages 6 and up, learn about the different scary plants from around the world. Costs $15 per family. Call 973-326-7601 for more info.

Toddlers And Tykes: Going Batty (Oct. 30): For ages 2-5, learn all about bats and take a guided walk. Costs $5 a child. Call 973-635-6629 to register.
