Have Coffee With A Cop In Morristown
Get to know your local police officers over a cup of coffee.

From Morristown PD: The Morristown Police Department is inviting community members to join them on Tuesday, October 16th from 11 AM to 1 PM at Starbucks, located on the Green at 40 W Park Pl., for ‘Coffee with a Cop’.
‘Coffee with a Cop’ provides an unique opportunity for residents to informally meet with officers and discuss community issues and events. The goal is to provide an open and transparent communication space between Morristown residents and the police officers who serve the community. Residents who attend do not need reservations or appointments.
“It is important that we continue to work to build strong partnerships between our police officers and members of the community,” said Morristown Police Chief Peter Demnitz. “We hope that residents will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers at ‘Coffee with a Cop’.”
‘Coffee with a Cop’ was launched in 2011 in Hawthorne, California when officers from HPD were looking for ways to interact more successfully with citizens served. These events have now been held in all 50 States and are considered one of the most successful community oriented policing programs across the country. The success of such events has been attributed to interactions between officers and citizens served outside of the crises situations that typically bring law enforcement officers and community members together.
‘Coffee with a Cop’ is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing by improving relationships between police officers and community members.
