Here's How Much Morristown Is Getting Vaccinated, By Age Range

MORRISTOWN, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Health released more age-demographic data for each town's vaccination rates. The numbers paint a clearer picture of how many people in each age group are — or aren't — getting the shots in each town, including Morristown.

The state set a goal for 70 percent of adults to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of June. Morristown reached the mark around that time. But with cases rising and the delta variant spreading, state and local officials have continued a push for people to get vaccinated.

Morris County has seen an unpick in cases recently as the delta variant spreads in New Jersey. The county averaged 37.3 new cases per day from July 29 to Wednesday — weeks after never exceeding 10 cases any day in July until the seventh, when the state health department reported 13 infections.

As the world continues to fight against COVID-19, here are Morristown's vaccination numbers:

• At least one dose, as of Thursday morning: 74 percent of all ages, 84 percent of adults, 87 percent of people 30 and older and 103 (sic) percent of seniors.
• At least one dose, four weeks ago: 71 percent of all ages, 81 percent of adults, 85 percent of people 30 and older, and 102 (sic) percent of seniors.
• Fully vaccinated, as of Thursday morning: 66 percent of all ages, 75 percent of adults, 79 percent of people 30 and older, and 96 percent of seniors.
• Fully vaccinated, four weeks ago: 62 percent of all ages, 70 percent of people 18 and older, 75 percent of people 30 and older, and 94 percent of seniors.
