Hop along! The Easter Bunny came to town!

Hillside Hose Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary host annual Easter egg roll

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Morris Township Fire Department’s Hillside Hose Company and the Firemen of the Company held their annual Easter egg roll at Saunders Field.

Kids of all ages attended the event on the beautiful sunny Sunday before Easter. Ladies Auxiliary members stuffed thousands of colorful plastic eggs with jelly beans and the firemen rolled the eggs across the field for each group to scoop up. There was even an adult group who got to have some fun, but had the extra challenge of seeking their eggs while walking backwards!

To top off all the fun, the Easter Bunny was there! Arriving on the fire truck to the field, the Bunny (aka Auxiliary member Tara Bernie) gave out high fives and took pictures with all the happy children.

The Ladies Auxiliary just celebrated their 70th anniversary! The group sponsors children’s events like this throughout the year with funds raised from other events like their delicious pancake breakfast in May. Monies raised are also used to give the firemen supplies for the house and refreshments while out at a fire.
