The story of Hope for Children Research began in 1985 when four-year-old Colleen Giblin passed away from an inoperable brain tumor. With a goal in mind, the Giblin’s instituted a foundation designed to promote research at Columbia University Medical Center, one of the nation's leading research hospitals and built their own Pediatrics Research Laboratory. Thirty years later, Hope for Children Research Foundation continues their support of children's neurological and cancer research at the Colleen Giblin Research Laboratories at Columbia.
“My description of charity is, The highest, noblest, strongest kind of LOVE. The kind of LOVE that changes people’s minds, hearts, and circumstances". Michelle Oates

Originally Michelle started a bible study with the wives of other professional sports players but after many conversations they recognized they wanted to use their public exposure to do more for the children. With that being said the wives of the bible study found the Giblin’s which started their journey for Hope for Children Research. Michelle is encouraging others to get involved to help support and continue this research for our children.
