MORRISTOWN, NJ — It's already started to snow in New Jersey, but forecasters expect much more to come Friday night into Saturday.

Morristown could be in for a lot of snow, but predictions vary, according to Jeffrey S. Paul, director of Morris County's Office of Emergency Management.

"Snowfall amounts across Morris County range from 4-6 inches with some models showing 7-11 inches over eastern areas, and 2-4 inches with some models showing 4-8 inches over western areas," Paul said Friday morning. "Keep in mind, we are still on the line between the heaviest snow and lighter amounts."

The National Weather Service placed Morris and Hunterdon Counties under a winter-storm warning from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday. The agency expects accumulating snow to begin Friday evening, becoming heavy at times through Saturday morning and diminishing that afternoon.

"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency," the warning says.
