MORRISTOWN, NJ — It's not clear what path the coronavirus may take in the colder months. But here's what we've seen in Greater Morristown recently.

Morris County averaged 48.2 infections per day in the past week, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. That's a reduction in new cases compared to this time of the month in October, when the county averaged 65.6 infections per day.

  • Morristown saw 13 new cases from Oct. 28 to Monday, bringing the town to 2,439 cases since the pandemic began. That's a 0.54 percent increase in the past 11 days.
  • Morris Township had 22 new infections in that span, totaling 1,827 cases since the onset of the pandemic — a 1.22 percent increase in total cases in 11 days.
  • Morris Plains's cases went from 633 to 644 — a 1.74 percent increase.

Here are the local hospital ICU statistics as of Tuesday, according to the Department of Health and Human Services:

  • Morristown Medical Center: 20.12 percent of ICU beds available
  • Saint Clare's Denville Hospital: 69.23 percent of ICU beds available
  • Kindred Hospital New Jersey - Morris County (Dover): ICU bed data unavailable
  • Overlook Medical Center (Summit): 49.25 percent of ICU beds available
  • Saint Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston): 46.05 percent of ICU beds available
