How Much Is COVID Spreading In Morris County?
The delta variant accounts for 90% of New Jersey cases, according to officials. Here's the town-by-town case growth rate in Morris County.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ ā Morris County continued its upward path of new cases, averaging 64.1 per day over the past week. But what does that mean for each town? (See town-by-town data below.)
The more-contagious delta variant has become more dominant in New Jersey, now accounting for 90.4 percent of cases sequenced over a four-week period ending July 24.
Hospitalizations remain low compared to their totals earlier this year, but they're rising. In North Jersey, 313 people remain hospitalized ā up from 122 on July 5 but significantly lower than the usual total of around 1,600 last winter.

Here's how much cases have increased in each Morris County town from Aug. 3 to Thursday, according to county data:
- Boonton: seven new cases, 817 total (since the pandemic began), 0.86 percent increase
- Boonton Township: three new cases, 512 total, 0.59 percent increase
- Butler: 11 new cases, 744 total, 1.5 percent increase
- Chatham Borough: five new cases, 419 total, 1.21 percent increase
- Chatham Township: 14 new cases, 599 total, 2.4 percent increase
- Chester Borough: one new case, 121 total, 0.83 percent increase
- Chester Township: nine new cases, 559 total, 1.64 percent increase
- Denville: 19 new cases, 1,350 total, 1.43 percent increase
- Dover: seven new cases, 2,854 total, 0.25 percent increase
- East Hanover: 19 new cases, 891 total, 2.18 percent increase
- Florham Park: 16 new cases, 794 total, 2.06 percent increase
- Hanover: 18 new cases, 1,029 total, 1.78 percent increase
- Harding: three new cases, 260 total, 1.17 percent increase
- Jefferson: 27 new cases, 1,976 total, 1.39 percent increase
- Kinnelon: 13 new cases, 997 total, 1.32 percent increase
- Lincoln Park: 12 new cases, 1,203 total, 1 percent increase
- Long Hill: 13 new cases, 462 total, 2.9 percent increase
- Madison: seven new cases, 903 total, 0.78 percent increase
- Mendham Borough: seven new cases, 372 total, 1.92 percent increase
- Mendham Township: two new cases, 346 total, 0.58 percent increase
- Mine Hill: one new case, 456 total, 0.22 percent increase
- Montville: 27 new cases, 1,975 total, 1.53 percent increase
- Morris Plains: five new cases, 586 total, 0.86 percent increase
- Morris Township: 20 new cases, 1,614 total, 1.25 percent increase
- Morristown: 20 new cases, 2,261 total, 0.89 percent increase
- Mount Arlington: 13 new cases, 522 total, 2.55 percent increase
- Mount Olive: 26 new cases, 2,408 total, 1.09 percent increase
- Mountain Lakes: five new cases, 286 total, 1.78 percent increase
- Netcong: two new cases, 290 total, 0.69 percent increase
- Parsippany: 50 new cases, 4,392 total, 1.15 percent increase
- Pequannock: 34 new cases, 1,474 total, 2.36 percent increase
- Randolph: 37 new cases, 2,155 total, 1.75 percent increase
- Riverdale: four new cases, 390 total, 1.04 percent increase
- Rockaway Borough: five new cases, 621 total, 0.81 percent increase
- Rockaway Township: 22 new cases, 2,333 total, 0.95 percent increase
- Roxbury: 29 new cases, 2,118 total, 1.39 percent increase
- Victory Gardens: no new cases, 216 total, no increase
- Washington Township: 27 new cases, 1,152 total, 2.4 percent increase
- Wharton: eight new cases, 1,033 total, 0.78 percent increase
