HWS 'Christmas Presence' Concert Dec. 10 in Whippany

Ushering in the holiday season in festive and grand style, the renowned Hanover Wind Symphony will present an uplifting concert of Christmas music, titled "Christmas Presence," on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m., at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church (OLM), 90 Whippany Road, in Whippany.

The celebrated wind band will perform traditional plus new and exciting arrangements of Christmas favorites, including:

* "A Christmas Festival," by Leroy Anderson

* "And the Mountains Echoed: Gloria!" by Robert Longfield

* "Suite from the Nutcracker," by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, arranged by James Curnow

* "Christmas Reflection: Shepherd's Pipe Carol"

* "Christmas Meditation," by Gary Gilroy

* "Old Scottish Melody," arranged by Charles Wiley

* A Christmas Sing-Along

Speaking about the upcoming holiday concert, Matthew Paterno of Parsippany, Hanover Wind Symphony music director and conductor, says, "To me, the joy and splendor of the Christmas season can best be expressed through music. This concert gives the Hanover Wind Symphony the opportunity to share that joy with our friends and family in the audience. We are extremely happy to continue our decade-long tradition of 'Christmas Presence' at Our Lady of Mercy. Come join us for traditional and modern sounds of the season and remember to bring your voices for the sing-along!"
