Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan Joined Habitat for Humanity to Build Homes for Those in Need in Morris County

KW Metropolitan agents came together May 11 for celebration of our annual day of service called RED Day

Morristown, NJ—May 11, 2017— Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan Realtors® associates chose to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, Keller Williams’ annual day of service on Thursday, May 11, dedicated to Renewing, Energizing and Donating to local communities.

New Jersey’s #1 office in the number of homes sold last year in the GSMLS (Garden State Multiple Listing Service) out of over 1,250 offices, Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan, hosted its annual day of service, RED Day event at the work site of its volunteer partner, Morris Habitat for Humanity at 27-45 Harding Avenue in Dover. Approximately 100 volunteer Realtors® came together on Thursday, May 11, to work on completing the four Morris Habitat for Humanity homes and celebrate the near completion of these homes being built for families in need.

“RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others," said Michael Brand, operating principal of Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan. “RED Day just happens to be a one-day expression of the constant state of the Keller Williams culture. We see a need, discover who can meet it and get it done.”

“Once I uncovered Morris Habitat for Humanity’s mission critical work I quickly engaged our office Cultural Committee co-chairs Denise Mortenson and Cathy Lutz who spearheaded this effort to make the cornerstone of our annual day of service but not just for one day,” said Bev Meaux, team leader of Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan. “We have over 300 Realtors® that cover many areas and we have used this depth and breadth of size to take this day event to a brand-new level and provide volunteer support since February on constructing these homes.”

In January, Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan became the official Realtor® partner of Morris Habitat for Humanity’s Harding Avenue project. With the office helping to build four homes for those families in need, this event became a mass-volunteer gathering to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods by providing extensive rehabilitation and modification services to those in need at a no interest, little cost to those served. With the help of Keller Williams’ Realtors®, skilled trades people, the support of local businesses and additional corporate partners and volunteers, these have become the homes built with love and support by Keller Williams Realty Metropolitan.
