Horan shined as the team's leading scorer with 13 points. She scored from all over the court and she seemed to be able to get open whenever the team needed crucial points to stay in the game.
Fellow Senior, Betsey Baehler made an impact as well, hitting shots from the outside in clutch moments. With less than five seconds left in the game, she sank a three-pointer that put MHS one possession away from a win, but Roxbury was able to run the remaining time off of the clock.

Among the underclassmen, Sophomore Kate Bachmann tallied 11 points. She has been a big spark in Morristown’s game all season. Her aggressive style of play drew several fouls and she was able to convert those into points.
The game was too close for comfort for both teams throughout as neither was able to pull too far ahead at any point. With the score tied at 22 at the half, it was apparent both teams would be battling out until the end.
Roxbury had the largest lead of the night, 7 points, at the end of the third quarter, but Morristown bttled back with big shots by Horan and Bachman in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the Colonials weren’t able to close it out and eventually ran out of steam and time as they fell to Roxbury despite an impressive late rally.
The Lady Colonials next travel to West Morris Central on Thursday, February 17th hoping to pick up their next win. The task will not be easy, as West Morris is one of the best in the county.
