Leading Medical Experts Offer Free Cancer Program in Rockaway
Learn how to reduce your risk for colorectal cancer

Morristown Medical Center’s Carol G. Simon Cancer Center presents “Protecting Your Colorectal Health” on Tuesday, May 1 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion, 333 Mount Hope Avenue in Rockaway. Admission is free.

Lee Starker, MD, is a surgical oncologist with Atlantic Medical Group and the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. Before joining Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Medical Center in 2016, Dr. Starker completed his fellowship training at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center where he was chief fellow in complex general surgical oncology. He completed his medical degree at Ross University and general surgery residency at the Yale University School of Medicine. He then obtained his PhD in genetics from Uppsala University in Sweden.

Also presenting are, Jessica Heinzmann, a genetic counselor specializing in cancer, and Mary-Giselle Ulbrich, a dietician specializing in cancer. Both health professionals are part of the patient cancer care team and are on staff at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center.
The medical team will present a comprehensive overview of colorectal cancer, including pre-cancerous polyps, risk factors, warning signs/symptoms, and recommendations for early detection and prevention.
The program is free and open to the public. A light dinner and refreshments will be served at 6:00pm. The presentation will start at 6:30pm.
