Legendary Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister truly went out with his boots on. “Clean Your Clock” features one of Motorhead’s final performances, filmed in Germany in November 2015, just one month before Lemmy died at age 70 of cancer. It’s a heroic, brave showing by the singer-bassist. While the effects of his ill health are evident – Lemmy does appear and at times sound frail – he gives his all and puts in a true-to-character, ass-kicking, and at times, poignant, performance.

The set starts with Lemmy leading the charge on a rousing rendition of “Bomber” followed by a groove-laden “Stay Clean.” He howls and powers through “No Class” and steamrolls through “Orgasmatron.” Additional highlights include "The Chase Is Better Than the Catch" and "Just 'Cos You Got the Power." Guitarist Phil Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee as always turn in a superb performance.

There are also chilling moments, like when Lemmy sings the excellent “When the Sky Comes Looking For You.” You can’t help but wonder what he was thinking given that he likely knew his time was limited.

“Clean Your Clock” is a testament to the mighty Lemmy, a reminder of the man’s strength, perseverance, and a rock-and-roll life well-lived to the end.
