Lenape Family Day
November 12, 2016, Saturday 11 am to 5 pm; FREE for Members; Non-members: $7/Child, $10/Adult
Long before New Jersey was known for its malls and highways, the state was inhabited by the Lenape Indians. John Kraft, the creator and director of Lenape Lifeways, will give presentations that focus on the culture of the Lenape Indians. Mr. Kraft uses authentic and recreated objects to teach about Lenape masks, clothing, musical instruments, and tools. Museum activities will also include: Interactive storytelling of Native American legends; “Wampum” beading; Lenape inspired crafts; Native games.
