Lent 2016: ThePresidentialProvidential Debate Season

Faith versus Reason
Without realizing it, we have taken a side. We have given our time, allegiance and effort to supporting one or the other in the cycles of our lives. It’s nothing new. It is an historic debate that has raged in Christianity since the turn of the 1st century: Faith vs. Reason. What is the role of faith, belief without empirical evidence, versus reason, the need to conceptualize and verify with human logic? Faith is evidenced in one’s life with a desire to seek holiness; reason is manifested in the pride of self-sufficiency.PCM’s 2016 Lenten worship services and Lenten study will focus on this consideration. How we ultimately understand the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ is determined by the examination of ourselves within the debate.
Five weeks of one-hour classes:
Tuesdays at 7pm starting Feb 16
Wednesdays at 5pm starting Feb 17
Thursdays at 11am starting Feb 18
Saturdays at 9am starting Feb 20
