Longtime Seeing Eye Employee, Grandmother of 12 Dies at 72

Jean Marie Dragos spent decades helping the blind get more out of life.

The longtime employee of The Seeing Eye in Morristown died on July 4 at the age of 72.

Dragos worked for the organization that trains seeing eye dogs and places them with sight impaired persons for 22 years while living in Long Valley.

Dragos enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, the beach, music, and plays. She was a member of Our Lady of the Mountain Church and loved spending time with her family.

Dragos is survived by her husband of 52 years, Raymond, five children, and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held July 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at William J. Leber Funeral Home on Furnace Road in Chester. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Parish in Long Valley, with burial following at Our Lady of the Mountain Cemetery.
