Lyon Withdraws From Morris County Freeholder Race
The Republican announced his withdrawal less than a week after announcing his candidacy. See who else is running here.

Hank Lyon, a Republican from Montville, has announced he is withdrawing from the race for Morris County Freeholder less than one week after declaring his candidacy.
Lyon announced the withdrawal in a short Facebook post that reads: "It has been one wild week. Unfortunately, today I decided to withdraw my candidacy for Morris County Freeholder. Instead, I will focus my attention on other endeavors. I wish the remaining candidates well."
The announcement came less than a week after Lyon filed his nominating petition on April 2, the deadline to run in the June primary election.

Lyon, who is 23, had previously served as a freeholder, but did not run for a third term, instead unsuccessfully running for State Assembly. He is currently applying for law schools.
The remaining candidates for Morris County freeholder are Republicans Deborah Smith, John Krickus, John Cesaro, Robert Peluso, Stephen Shaw, Aura Kenny Dunn, and Democrats Vanessa Brown, Mary Dougherty, Rupande Mehta, and Richard Corcoran.
