Major Roadwork Coming To Four Morris Co. Towns
The construction is part of a major road work effort by the county.

HANOVER, NJ — Major road work is coming up in four Morris County towns soon, as part of a major roadwork effort by the county.
Dover, Hanover, Mine Mill and Morris Township will all see roadwork in August and early September. Work includes milling, paving, and adding ADA compliant ramps.
Overall, 30 miles of road across 24 Morris County towns will see roadwork this year. It'll cost a total of $9 million.

“Maintaining our road infrastructure is extremely important to our residents, visitors, medical and educational institutions, and businesses, and is a key factor in the high quality of life we have in Morris County,’’ said Freeholder Director Doug Cabana.

Mendham Road, Morris Township: The 1.5-mile project will run from Indian Head Road to Kahdena Road. Work is expected to start on Monday, Aug. 13. Topline Construction of Somerville is the contractor. The bid price is $612,222. The project includes storm basin work, milling, paving, guide rails, and striping. The contractor has 20 working days (in good weather) to complete the work. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Police will assist with traffic control. A one-way detour is possible. Motorists should expect travel delays.
Blackwell Street, Dover: The 0.7-mile project will run from Warren Street to Salem Street. Work is expected to start on Monday, Aug. 20. AJM Contractors of Clifton will be the contractor. The bid price is $439,065. The project includes storm basin work, milling, paving, ADA ramps, guide rails, and striping. Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. One lane of traffic will remain open but motorists should expect traffic delays. The contractor has 20 working days to complete the work.
Randolph Avenue, Mine Hill: The 0.9-mile project will run from Route 46 to Randolph Avenue. Work is scheduled to start on Tuesday, Sept.4. J.A. Alexander of Bloomfield will be the contractor. The bid price is $347,689. The project will include storm basin work, milling, paving, ADA ramps, guide rails, and striping. Work is expected to occur from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should expect traffic delays and possible detours. Police in neighboring Wharton say a full road closure may occur at some point. The contractor has 20 working days to complete the job.
Highview Avenue, Hanover Twp.: The 0.2-mile project will run to East Hanover Avenue. Work is expected to start on Monday, Sept. 24. AJM Contractors of Clifton will be the contractor. The bid price is $124,359. The project includes storm basin work, milling, paving, ADA ramps, and striping. Work is expected to occur from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local residents should expect delays. The contractor has 20 working days to complete the work.
