Man Arrested After Assault On Morris County Trail, Police Say

Deputies arrested Ricardo Martinez-Bonilla on Tuesday after they found him sleeping on a trail in Morristown.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — A man is facing multiple charges after authorities said he assaulted and threatened another man during an argument in Morristown.

Ricardo Martinez-Bonilla was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and making terroristic threats following the Tuesday incident, the Morris County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

Deputies were notified shortly before 2:30 a.m. about an injured man who was assaulted and threatened following an argument with another man on Patriots Path near Martin Luther King Avenue in Morristown.

When deputies arrived, they located the victim who told them Martinez-Bonilla was still in the area. Deputies arrested Martinez-Bonilla after they found him sleeping on the trail.

The victim was taken to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, authorities said.
